Junkers Ju 87B, WNr. 1301643

History

The aircraft on display at the Technik Museum Sinsheim crashed under unknown circumstances and sank into the Mediterranean Sea near Saint-Tropez. In 1989, a German-French diving team, supported by the museum, successfully salvaged the aircraft from a depth of 90 meters. The recovery was a remarkable feat, bringing the nearly complete aircraft to the surface for preservation and display Technik Museum Sinsheim.

Today, only two complete Ju 87s remain in existence—one in the United States and another in the United Kingdom. The Sinsheim example stands as a rare and tangible connection to aviation history
