Mitsubishi J8M1, 403

History
After Japan's surrender, many Japanese military aircraft and technology were seized by American forces. The J8M1 Shusui, serial number 403, was one of the few surviving prototypes of the Shusui series. The aircraft was found by the Americans at the end of the war, and it was transported to the United States for evaluation and study.
In the 1950s, some of the Shusui aircraft were eventually sent to museums, and serial number 403 was eventually placed on display at the Plane of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California. It was one of the few surviving examples of a Japanese World War II jet aircraft.
At the Plane of Fame Air Museum, the J8M1 Shusui is a prized exhibit.
