Heinkel He 162A-2, WNr. 120235, " Rote 6"

History
Werknummer 120235 " Rote 6" was manufactured at the Heinkel Nord plant in Rostock-Marienehe, Germany, in April 1945. It was captured by Allied forces at Leck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on May 6, 1945. Following its capture, the aircraft was transported to the United Kingdom for evaluation. At Farnborough, it was allocated the RAF serial AM68 but remained unflown. In August 1946, it was transferred to RAF Cranwell and later displayed at the Imperial War Museum in London.In 2012, the aircraft was relocated to the Imperial War Museum Duxford, where it is currently on display. It was restored into "Gelbe 6" from 1986 till 1989 at Duxford. Currently being restored (since late December 2022) on the location.
