Dornier do 24T, WNr. ?

History
The Do 24T variant, built under license in the Netherlands during the German occupation, was powered by three BMW Bramo 323 R-2 radial engines. These aircraft were primarily used by the Luftwaffe for sea rescue operations, replacing older biplanes like the Heinkel He 59. A total of 159 Do 24T-1s were constructed, with the majority assembled by Aviolanda at Papendrecht. The aircraft's robust design and capabilities made it a valuable asset for maritime operations during World War II.
After the war, the Dornier Do 24T continued to serve in various capacities. The specific aircraft displayed at the Technik Museum Speyer was built in 1944 by Aviolanda for the Spanish Air Force. It remained in service until 1974, primarily used for sea rescue missions. Following its retirement, the aircraft was preserved and eventually became part of the museum's collection.
