Bücker Bü 181C-3, WNr. 331381, "D-ECYV"

History

After World War II, the Bü 181 continued to serve in various countries. The aircraft in question, serial number 331381, was likely operated by the Luftwaffe during the war. Post-war, it was registered in Saarland as SL-AAS and later in 1959 as D-ECYV. The final owner, Hans Dittes, flew the aircraft for the last time on August 24, 1997. Subsequently, it was acquired by the Deutsches Museum and is now part of the museum's collection at Flugwerft Schleissheim.

The Bü 181's legacy endures through its continued presence in aviation museums, where it serves as a testament to its role in training generations of pilots. The aircraft's design and service history highlight its significance in both wartime and peacetime aviation.
